General Info

Coeliac (or celiac) disease is a condition that affects the small bowel, caused by an abnormal immune response, or sensitivity, to a dietary protein known as gluten. Sensitivity to gluten causes inflammation and damage to the small intestine, and sometimes the damage is so severe that the intestine is unable to absorb essential nutrients, leading to diarrhoea, vitamin and mineral deficiencies and eventually malnutrition.

Ashley O'Neil

Ashley O'Neil's family has been trading in The English Market since 1929 and must be doing something right with their meat as they are still around and serving both local Restaurants and people from Cork.

The Quality of meat is like most places in the market that they offer a good range of quality locally sourced produce to suit all needs and the range often on display is amazing to say the least.
All the beef sold at his counter is either Hereford or Angus, the lamb and mutton is local with lamb being very popular among all. They also supply bacon, sausages, black & white pudding. Chicken is sold in a variety of ways from whole ready for the oven to breast meat ready for a stir-fry. The eggs are fresh and its been known to get the odd double yolked egg.
The food is very reasonably priced and comes highly rated.
